Tofu Nuggets
Everyone – adults, kids, and even my friends' pets – enjoyed these nuggets. The tofu variant offers a delicate, lovable crunch with a soft, savory interior, making it quite addictive, much like any traditional fried nugget.
Kids especially love nuggets, and this tofu version is just as appealing. These crispy bites feature a soft, savory center, making them irresistibly addicting.
Tofu is versatile and can be enjoyed in many ways. It can be eaten plain since it is already cooked, though its taste might be a bit bland on its own. In some regions, the soft form of tofu is even enjoyed like yogurt for breakfast, as seen in China, Singapore, and Taiwan. With the right flavors, tofu can transform into a delightful dish.
You can enhance its taste by marinating it, frying it without spices for a simple side snack with soy vinegar sauce, or even drizzling a sweet syrup over it to create a delectable dessert similar to soft tapioca balls. Note that today approximately 90-95% of soy is transgenic. Always verify on the packaging that the tofu or soy product you purchase is GMO-free or labeled organic. Alternatively, you can make tofu at home using organic soybeans. Click here to learn how to make tofu from scratch.
For this recipe, the tofu cubes are marinated to absorb savory flavors and then coated with corn semolina before being pan-fried in coconut oil to achieve a crunchy exterior. Follow the recipe below to create this delicious treat.
